Time just never ceases to amaze me with how quickly it is flowing through my days! It was quite the surprise to see how long it had been since I had peeked here in blogland. In celebration of the season, I wanted to have an art blessing giveaway for this sweet boxed set of treasures pictured above! The lovely butterfly box is filled with a card print of one of my original designs, a mini altered journal, glass butterfly holder with two candles, a pocket mirror, card set and candy canes! If you would like to be included in the drawing for this set just leave your contact info in the comment section. I would so appreciate your help in spreading the word about my Holiday Etsy Sale! Sale ends Sunday, Dec 16th!
Just add a note with a link on your blog, facebook, twitter etc about the sale and for every place you mention my little sale I will gladly add your name an additional time to my treasure box drawing. The Etsy sale ends on Dec 24th and that evening I will select a winner for the Art Blessing!
I have been busy creating in the studio and here are a few new items you can find in my Etsy store!
A song that is comforting me lately...Please pause music playing on my playlist on the lower right hand sidebar before listening...
We pray for blessings We pray for peace Comfort for family, protection while we sleep We pray for healing, for prosperity We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering All the while, You hear each spoken need Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things
'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops What if Your healing comes through tears What if a thousand sleepless nights Are what it takes to know You’re near What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
We pray for wisdom Your voice to hear And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love As if every promise from Your Word is not enough All the while, You hear each desperate plea And long that we'd have faith to believe
'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops What if Your healing comes through tears What if a thousand sleepless nights Are what it takes to know You’re near And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
When friends betray us When darkness seems to win We know that pain reminds this heart That this is not, this is not our home It's not our home
'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops What if Your healing comes through tears And what if a thousand sleepless nights Are what it takes to know You’re near What if my greatest disappointments Or the aching of this life Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy And what if trials of this life The rain, the storms, the hardest nights Are Your mercies in disguise
I have several new pieces to share with you that have all been listed in my Etsy Store! I have settled back into a rhythm in my studio which feels like where my heart wants to be. Its been a busy month as we continue to make progress on our home remodel (I should finally have a kitchen this weekend!) and returning home from an incredible 5-day trip to Orlando to share my work at the "Healing Together 2012" conference. It was a beautiful open door with many divine appointments that my heart is deeply grateful to have been invited!
I designed a collage print and gift set "One Heart Many Souls" in honor of those who deal with trauma based dissociation. I was so blessed to meet so many at the conference who courageously take the journey to heal the fractured places inside their hearts. I look forward to making it an annual event and returning in the years to come!
New Art Therapy Block Set! These are a such a long time favorite of mine to create. I spend alot of time on each set arranging the designs to tell a story or express a theme.
You can see more pictures on the Etsy listings to see the multitude of ways these can be arranged and played with!
Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I have been up to! I hope today you find a moment to rest, reflect and remember something you are grateful for...because no matter what we are facing...there is always a kindness, a person, a small blessing, a word of encouragement or even the breath we breathe...to be presently aware of...and have a grateful heart for!
Since the day after Christmas we began a major remodeling project here at our home. Thankfully, admist utter chaos and floors and rooms being torn up, my studio is one of the few rooms in the house that is still able to be fully inhabited. It is my solace and I am grateful for a place to close the door and gather myself! I have been creating and adding items to both of my Etsy stores.
I've been really enjoying creating items and putting together inspirational collections for creative souls in my second Etsy shop, "Altered Revelations". You can see some of the newest collections pictured below! I hope to continue to expand this shop and add items more frequently for those that love to play with altered art and mixed media scrapbooking and all forms of collage. Take a peek and I hope you enjoy!
January has been a busy month for me at Healing Expressions and I am grateful for the opportunities to share my art, heart and journey. And finally I had just had to introduce the newest member of the family..."Puddles"! My oldest son gifted his brother with an aquatic turtle, large tank and all for his birthday. He really is quite fun and it amazes me the intricate patterns that decorate his body and shell. Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year blessings!

My hope is this might be a place of reflection for those who stroll through. Art has long been a source of divine comfort for me in times of great joy as well as seasons of deep pain. I am often drawn to the imagery that speaks of journey and the unfolding of our stories....the butterfly, the passing of seasons, a key that might open the door to a heart that has been wounded. It is along our individual journeys that life brings defining moments that speak to us. Gifts of hope and wisdom, personal growth, words of encouragement during times of great struggle, lessons born of taking risks and revealing who we really are, tears wept, laughter shared, questions that wrestle with life and faith, a heart that has been healed or dreams bravely spoken aloud and shared. It requires courage to open our eyes and listen to what is being whispered in the private places of our hearts. My prayer is that these images and creative reflections might invite you nearer to your own unique story and into the heart of the journey.
"DANCE WITH THE BUTTERFLIES AND SOAR ON TRANSLUSCENT WINGS"
" Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves: Who am I to be brilliant? Actually who are you not to be? You are a child of God. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. Its not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And, as we let our own light shine, we unconciously give other people permission to so the same. As we were liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others" (Marianne Williamson)
